ANGLE News: Rustica Lands Downstairs at Maple

The cult pastry brand has opened its newest outpost in Hawthorn.

After fulfilling the cronut, croissant and sandwich cravings of many Melburnians, Rustica has officially opened a new store at the bottom of ANGLE development, Maple.

Success in Richmond, Fitzroy and the CBD contributed to the Hawthorn store opening, fuelled by owners Brenton Lang, Matt Vero and Tristan White. The boys make up the same team behind Tall Timber, Homeslice Pizza, Marquis of Lorne, Short Straw *breath* and Coin Laundry. It’s safe to say this trio knows what it’s doing.

Old Rustica favourites including signature artisan breads and delectable pastries are on offer, alongside more substantial newcomers including baguettes filled with slow-roasted lamb shoulder and cumin yoghurt, as well as a poached egg dish with a house-made baba ganoush and grilled halloumi. Oh, the drools.

The establishment is housed in Maple’s downstairs space, abundant with light where pastries shine in a cabinet upon entry.

An ideal spot to sneak into before work for a quick bite, or take a pastry to go, ANGLE welcomes Rustica.
